    CV: Meet your Tourist Guide

Natassa from an article in Kathimerini newspaper

I was born in Thessaloniki, but I also call Thrace my second home! I’m an Archaeologist (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, GR) with a master’s degree in Museum management (City University London, UK) and I also hold a Tourist Guide license from the Greek Ministry of Tourism.

Through my work, I combine my love for the culture and history of the region with original ways of discussing related topics with children and adults. In other words, to share my favorite places and stories, I use storytelling with myths and fairy tales—some of which I write myself—and I even enlist Karagiozis, the Greek shadow theater protagonist, as my assistant!

I have extensive experience in designing and implementing cultural educational programs for children. Meanwhile, I worked for almost 20 years with “Athena” Research Center, in projects regarding cultural technology. I’m collaborating with the Foundation of Thracian Art and Tradition and the Lyceum Club of Greek Women of Xanthi for the “Young Archaeologists of Thrace” project. I am a founding member of the Shadow Theater group “The tales of Karaghiozis”, the Poetry and Folktale Academy, and the storytelling group “ParamythoThrakes” (Storytellers of Thrace). I’m the curator of the traveling exhibition “All Arts for Karaghiozis”.

Moreover, I have contributed to scientific publications and I write articles for newspapers in Xanthi and Laconia area in Greece. I co-edited the volume “Mythical Journeys in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace” (2023), contributed to the collective work “Thought, Word, Delight: From Feuilleton to Book” (2024), and authored a poetry collection entitled “As If… Thoughts Under the Regime of Poetry” (2024).
